Following on from the last weekly photo challenge I posted, I have another photo of an extremely premature baby. Whilst we were concocting ridiculous pirate names on Facebook on Thursday, putting a few too many oooh and arrrs in our day, our nephew and his wife had their own high risk, terrifying and unplanned adventure, with the arrival of their son, almost seven weeks early. Though this isn’t the first time we’ve visited the premmy ward it still doesn’t fail to be a confronting and very emotional experience. Once again I’m overwhelmingly thankful that we are lucky enough to live in an age and society that has the care and expertise to ensure that such little ones still have the very best start in life possible.
It was an absolute honour and a pleasure to capture some of the very first tender moments of little Indiana, 4lb 15oz and breathing on his own today.
